Description
The HC-SR501 PIR (Passive Infrared) motion sensor detects changes in infrared radiation caused by moving people or other warm objects within its sensing area. Its digital output can be connected to compatible microcontrollers such as Arduino, ESP8266 and ESP32 for motion-triggered automation.
The module typically includes adjustable sensitivity and time-delay controls, along with a trigger-mode jumper. It is suitable for DIY security systems, automatic lights, occupancy detection and other motion-based electronics projects. Detection range and timing depend on sensor adjustment, installation position and environmental conditions.
